Richard N. Haass, president of the liberal-fascist Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) since 2003, is stepping down. He will be succeeded by long time CFR member Michael Froman, Assistant Secretary of the Treasury under Robert Rubin, an officer at Rockefeller’s Citibank, and US Trade Rep during the Obama admin. Rubin served as the CFR chairman from 2007 to 2017.
An article in the New York Times, a long time CFR mouthpiece, provides a flattering profile of Haass and his concerns regarding the direction of the organization, and the future of the “global governance” project.
Substack author Simplicius offers his commentary on the hypocrisy of Haass and the CFR, based on the Times article. Below are a few excerpts:
“The Sun Sets on Richard N. Haass” by Simplicius
“The CFR took off when large organizations like the Ford and Carnegie Corporations, as well as the Rockefeller Foundation, began lavishing it with large yearly sums of money. David Rockefeller himself ultimately became the Council’s chairman (1970-85)…
Now, one of the staunchest voices of the Anglo-American crusade to rule the world has become disillusioned, and believes it’s the U.S. which has ironically become ‘the greatest threat to global security’…
The problem is that Haass suffers from the typical lack of self-awareness… Such figures are free to do as they want, spending years in the thinktank sandbox pushing poisonous policy without the built-in safety-catch of political pushback from a voting constituency…
After all, recall that this is the man who campaigned for the dissolution of national sovereignties… They want bodies like the CFR itself—where oligarchs sit shoulder to shoulder with world leaders—to become the de rigeur model for global governance. His argument is that it’s merely pragmatic; after all, if all-powerful global organs like BlackRock wield such vast influence in effecting ‘change’ (for better or worse), then why not give them a say, so that their power can be recruited for beneficial action?”
Billionaire Larry Fink of BlackRock is a CFR director, and billionaire David Rubenstein of the Carlyle Group is the CFR chairman. Both are also trustees at the Davos World Economic Forum (WEF), another node in the CFR network.
The system promoted by the CFR/UN/WEF network is “liberal-fascism”: rule by a corporatist oligarchy, behind a false front of liberal democracy.
CFR members on the “Biden team” include the secretaries of State, Treasury, Defense, Commerce, and ‘Homeland Security’. Also the Fed chairman, the CIA director, and dozens of deputies, advisors, ambassadors, etc.
